Smitty

Smitty the betta fish passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024. Because Smitty had been a Christmas gift to his human (Miles) in 2022, he died on his second birthday.

Miles got a lot of joy out of taking care of Smitty, which was his first pet. He would feed Smitty bloodworms, fish food and betta pellets. He also was diligent about cleaning Smitty’s tank so it was healthier for Smitty and so Miles could always see him clearly.

Smitty leaves behind Miles, as well as Miles’ parents Jan and Steve, and his animal brother Lucas, who is a four-year-old pug.

“He always listened when I’d talk to him, and he came right over to the glass every time I walked into the room,” Miles said. “I’ll miss him so much.”
