Reggie was a blue-tongued skink who had been the best friend of his human Nick for just over 10 years. Nick adopted Reggie after another family couldn’t keep him anymore, and together they navigated Nick’s moves to four different states, where Reggie always made Nick feel at home.

Reggie loved hiding under the rock in his tank, eating bananas and meat, basking under his humidity mister and exploring the room when Nick would hang out with him on the floor.

Reggie leaves behind his best friend Nick, as well as Nick’s wife Mackenzie and their infant daughter Penelope. Reggie has been cremated, and his family will remember him while scattering his ashes in his favorite place this coming spring.

“No matter where I lived, what troubles I was having, Reggie was always there for me,” Nick said. “I know I’ll see him again someday.”
