Arnold

Arnold the Westie

January 7, 2025

Arnold Palmer, a much-loved West Highland White Terrier, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025 at the age of 16.5 years old.

Arnold was just under three pounds when his mom, Jill, first held him. As the runt of his litter, he was small but mighty. He was known for being handsome and human-like — sometimes a bit ornery but always filled with love.

Arnold leaves behind his parents, Jill Galati and Dave Snyder, and Lou Tan; his 12-year-old best friend and sister, Mindy Sue; and his cat brother, Benny. He’s also survived by his human siblings, Elyse and Ethan; his grandmothers, Diane, Kathy, and Jill; his grandfathers, Tony, Luis, and John; cousins Isla, Duke, Laila, Lena, Cash, Thomas, Bella, Zach, Jack, and Gracie; along with many aunts and uncles, especially Vito, Mike, Alison, Travis, Amanda, Charlie, Nici, Matt, and the one most special to him, Danny, who he loved endlessly; great-aunts Denise, Beth, and Donna; and great-uncles Paul and Basil. He also leaves behind a special friend, Jennifer, who he would not have been here without.

Arnold loved licking his paws and Mindy’s ears, running in circle eights, traveling on vacations, burrowing under the covers to take naps, having his belly rubbed, playing with the rope, and snuggling with his loved ones.

“He lived a very loved and long life, but it wasn’t long enough,” Jill said. “He was smart and fierce, loving and funny. He was kind to other animals. He was there for me in every hard situation of my life for 16 years.”
